MMCB Custom Minifig Cloth Accessories is privately run by me, Mark Parker. I have been a fan of Lego all my life and am now proudly an Adult fan of Lego (AFOL). Based just outside of Sydney Australia, I have been creating custom cloth accessories since late 2004 and now share my passion with my wife and two children.
With the release of the official Lego Star Wars line, I immediately became interested in creating my own custom figures to complement the official release figures. After starting out as a purist customiser (someone who doesn't modify official Lego parts), I eventually moved into the true customising realm of painting and modifying minifig parts to create the characters of my favourite genre. It was here that the need for different coloured capes came to be.
In 2005, after working full-time for some seven years as a web programmer, I felt that I needed a change of scenery and life style. My wife took on the role of "bread-winner" and I took on the role of "house-husband". This not only allowed me to spend more time with my family, but to also spend more time working on my hobby. To this day, I am still the house-husband taking care of my wife and children and ensuring they have everything they need to get through they're busy days.
What started out as a hobby of creating capes and robes for my own personal use, soon became a highly sought after venture for fellow minifig customisers. My initial range of 3 or 4 capes and robes has now expanded to cover well over 100 different designs ranging from capes, to pauldrons, to full military uniforms. I am forever thinking up ideas for new designs and will continue to add to my ever growing range of accessories.
Whilst the demand and production for my custom accessories has grown tremendously over the last few years, my available time has not. Where it used to be one man producing the odd order here and there, it is now the same one man producing up to 30 orders at any one time. This may not sound like a lot of work, but when you consider that I am the only person that has over 100 designs (and growing), and each design is individually hand crafted by myself, it all adds up.
Through my own dealings with customers and through working with some well known customisers, I am proud to have developed a respectable reputation within the Lego Community.
So what does the future hold? Only time will tell……
